Which Writers AI Cites in Your Category
Two new features are live. Influential Voices names the people behind the pages AI cites, and Content Freshness shows how old that content is.
We are excited to announce two new Centium features: Influential Voices and Content Freshness.
Both will populate on every dashboard from here on, and both have been applied to every dashboard we have built in the last three months, so most brands will find them already filled in.
from sites to people.
The Sources tab has always answered one question: which sites does AI pull from when it answers about your category. Influential Voices answers the next one. How can I get my brand mentioned on these pages?
We are excited to release Influential Voices, a list of the individual people whose work AI cites in your category. Here we'll highlight both how often their work is cited, and how many different articles they write that AI surfaces.
Select any writer to see their work and whether each mentioned your brand or not. This list can be filtered by prompt category, or whether it came from category or direct brand questions.
The card beside this text runs on sample data. The articles and the counts are real, the writer names are not, which is why the profile button here has no destination.
Influential Voices
earned media moves the models.
Earned media is one of the strongest levers on AI visibility we measure. When a model answers a category question it reaches for editorial coverage, and what that coverage says about you is largely what it repeats. A placement keeps paying out long after the news cycle it was written for, which is also why keeping that coverage reachable matters as much as landing it.
It is part of why a large share of Centium's customers are PR and marketing agencies. They were working this channel before AI answers existed, and they are the ones best placed to act on a list of names. We are building the tooling to help them, and you, win in one of the most important channels we track.
Here are some things you can do with this information:
- Get in touch. A writer AI already leans on who has never named you is the warmest cold outreach on the page.
- Send product. The pieces AI cites hardest tend to be roundups and hands-on reviews, and those need something in hand to write about.
- Invite them in. For a destination, a property or a venue, a visit is the version of sending product.
None of that is new. What is new is knowing which of those relationships move what AI is reading.
how old the content is that AI cites.
We are finding that for some brands AI leans heavily on recent content, while for others it has go-to sources that stand the test of time. We have added a new feature to visualize how content age affects what AI cites for your categories.
Visit your Methodology tab and scroll to the bottom to see Content Freshness. View the data for articles, where each page is counted once, or for total citations, which weighs each page by how often AI pulled it in.
The histogram here is running on the demo brand's own citations, where every date and count is real.
Content Freshness

already on your dashboard.
Both features are now on dashboards updated in the last three months, and will appear automatically on every future one at no added cost. The raw data for both is in your dashboard menu under Export, where Influential Voices has its own tab and every citation tab carries the byline and publish date the two are built from, so you can hand the file to your preferred AI agent to help build a PR outreach strategy.
Open the demo dashboard now to work through both with sample data, on the Sources and Methodology tabs.

questions, answered.
They come from the pages AI cites. When a model sources an answer from an article, Centium records the byline that article carries and the author page the publisher links to, if it links to one. Nothing is added about the person from outside the page, and a name only appears because a model reached for their work.
Citations is how often that writer's work was pulled into an AI answer. Articles is how many separate pieces of theirs AI surfaced. The list is ranked by citations, because a writer with one heavily cited piece is doing more work in the answer than a writer with several pieces AI rarely reaches for. Sort by articles for the reverse view.
That article named your brand. It sits on the article rather than on the writer because writers are not consistent about it. Measured across 109 brands, about a quarter of the writers with more than one cited article have some pieces that name the brand and some that do not, so marking the writer would hide the split. Marking the article tells you which of their pieces named you and which did not.
Read it as two groups. The writers AI leans on who already name you are coverage that is working, and worth keeping current. The writers AI leans on who have never named you are the pitch list, because a model is already reaching for their work in your category. The filter narrows the list to one prompt category, so you can build a list around the topic you want to be found for.
Because only some publishers provide one. Where the page declares an author page, the row links to it, and the label names the destination, usually a masthead contributor page or a professional profile. Where the publisher provides nothing, there is no link to give.
Fresh coverage carries a real edge. Measured across 269 brands and 19,178 dated pages, articles published in the last 30 days are 12.7 percent of what AI cites and produce 14.1 percent of the citations, so new work punches above its weight from the day it lands. What the same data shows is staying power: the strongest pieces keep earning citations for years, and 51.2 percent of what AI cites is more than a year old. Publishing keeps you in the mix, and an article that stays right is the one that compounds. Content Freshness shows which pattern your own categories follow.
Probably not. Both have been applied to every dashboard built in the last three months, so if your brand updated in that window they are on it now. Anything older picks them up on its next scheduled update.
Influential Voices is in the Sources tab, below Citations. Content Freshness is at the bottom of the Methodology tab. On mobile the dashboard carries the same sections as desktop: Sources is one of the five buttons in the bottom nav, and Methodology is one tap further in, under More. Both cards appear once your brand has data to show, so there is nothing to switch on.
No. Both are built from the AI answers you already collect, with no new prompts and no added cost, and they refresh on your normal schedule.
Yes, through Export in your dashboard menu. Influential Voices has its own tab, one row per person, with the outlet, citations, articles, share of citations, how many of their articles named you, and the profile link where there is one. Every citation tab also carries the byline and publish date that both features are built from.

Expanded Sentiment Tracking in Brand Perception
Brand Perception shows the themes AI models use when they talk about you. Each theme now expands to explain what the models actually said, in their words, with sentiment attached.
Content Amplification: Own Your Wins
Media companies are blocking AI crawlers, and the coverage you worked hardest to earn can go invisible overnight. Content amplification keeps those wins where the models can still find them.
Now Tracking Google AI Mode
Centium now tracks Google AI Mode as a sixth model, included on every plan automatically. Six models across 120 prompts is 720 AI responses behind every report.
